Become Part of a Church Family

Writer: Justin HillJustin Hill

be part of a church family

Pastor Clark Bosher has been doing a series on the book of James. Let's take a moment to find out what James says about being part of a church family.

In chapter 2 of James, verses 14 - 17, we find a call to action.

"What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him? If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food, And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit? Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone." (James 2:14-17 - KJV)

This passage challenges us to reflect on the authenticity of our faith. True faith, as James emphasizes, is not only about words or beliefs; it's demonstrated through our actions, especially in how we care for those in need.

Willow Park Baptist Church strives to live out this principle. We actively engage in various outreach and care programs. Here are some of the ways we live out our faith through action:

  • Monthly Feeding Hearts Outreach - On the second Saturday of every month, members gather at 9 a.m. to prepare blessing bags filled with food and toiletries. These bags are then distributed to the homeless, accompanied by kind words, prayers, and compassionate support. Through this ministry, many have experienced the love of Christ in tangible ways.

Support Groups

  • DivorceCare: A weekly group offering guidance and support for those navigating the challenges of divorce, helping individuals rebuild their lives with a strong foundation.

  • GriefShare: Designed for those mourning the loss of a loved one, this group provides a space for sharing, healing, and finding hope amidst grief.

Being a part of Willow Park Baptist Church means more than attending services. It means you found a church home where we can worship together and grow together. Where you can find a family who is here to love and support you.

If you're searching for a new home church, we want to invite you to join us at Willow Park Baptist Church. We want you to be a part of a church who lives out their faith through community, support, spiritual growth, and our deeds. Together, we can make a difference in each other's lives, and the lives of others.
